1 dead, 7 injured in Greenbelt crash

WASHINGTON — One person is dead and seven are injured after a multivehicle crash Thursday morning in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Police say the crash took place shortly after 9 a.m. when a car rear-ended three cars and a bus stopped at a red light.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Seven others were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

U.Md. delays in-person instruction for undergrads for two weeks

In-person instruction at the University of Maryland, College Park will be delayed for two weeks. This is because the prevalence of COVID-19 in Maryland, and specifically in Prince George's County, remains higher than the university had hoped for the start of the academic year in the fall.
