How to get a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts for $1

WASHINGTON — Krispy Kreme is turning 81 Friday, and it is celebrating its birthday by giving customers a sweet treat.

The doughnut chain is offering customers that buy a dozen doughnuts a second dozen of its glazed doughnuts for $1.

The company is also commemorating this year’s anniversary by selling a limited edition glazed confetti doughnut, with sprinkles on top and inside.

The business opened its first location in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, 81 years ago.
