WASHINGTON — A Fairfax County teacher is facing two felony charges after authorities say he solicited sex from a detective who was posing as a minor online.

Norman Achin, 50, taught at Westfield High School and West Springfield High School this past school year, and Fairfax County police are looking into the possibility that he might have had inappropriate contact with students.

According to police, the detective was contacted by Achin via a social media application. Achin, they said, started a conversation, solicited sexual contact and sent a sexually explicit image.

Achin was charged with attempted indecent liberties and use of a communication device to solicit a minor. He is being held without bond, and has been suspended from his job without pay.
