WASHINGTON — A gas leak around Capitol Hill led to the closure of several intersections Thursday morning. A third-party crew struck a gas line in the area around 9:30 a.m., according to Washington Gas. They determined there was no risk to the area, and the leak did not impact service.

Major roadways near the Capitol were closed during repairs, including portions of Constitution Avenue, Maryland Avenue and Second Street, near the U.S. Supreme Court building. As of 12:01 p.m., all street closures had ended, and D.C. police reported the gas leak had been cleared.
