1 killed in crash outside police station in Prince George’s Co.

WASHINGTON — A man was killed in Prince George’s County after his vehicle veered off the road.

It happened in Glenarden, Maryland, around 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Police responded to a crash right outside of the station on Glenarden Parkway between Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and McClain Avenue.

The road reopened a little before 6 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the driver lost control of his vehicle, hit the S shaped curb and the car overturned. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police are investigating the crash.

4 Metro stations reopen after summerlong platform work

Four Washington Metro stations reopened for regular service Tuesday morning after a monthslong closure to replace aging outdoor platforms and enhance safety features for commuters. The Greenbelt, College Park, Prince George's Plaza and West Hyattsville stations on the Yellow and Green lines have been closed since late May for restoration work under Metro's $15.5 billion, 10-year Capital Improvement Program.
