WASHINGTON — 2Amys, the D.C. pizza shop that has won numerous awards and drawn huge crowds over the years, is closed until further notice after a burst pipe led to flooding in the kitchen.

The restaurant on Macomb Street Northwest posted on Facebook that a pipe “in the heart of our restaurant” burst sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, leaving 5 feet of water in the kitchen.

As for how long they’ll be closed, the restaurant estimated it would be “weeks, for sure. Hopefully not months.”

They added that no one was hurt.

2Amys has made Washingtonian’s 100 Very Best Restaurants the past two years, and Eater DC’s list of 15 essential pizzerias in the area in May.
