Northbound lanes of BW Parkway reopen near Laurel

WASHINGTON — The northbound lanes on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway have reopened around Laurel in Prince George’s County.

The lanes were closed for a while as police searched the area for evidence of a reported shooting. Park Police said a man was driving northbound around 2:45 a.m. on Monday when he said a bullet struck his car. The driver wasn’t hurt and drove to a police station to report the incident. Police waited until after the morning rush hour to return to the area and look for evidence of shots being fired. A map of the area can be seen below.
