Motorcyclist dead after rear-end collision in Fairfax Co.

WASHINGTON — A motorcyclist is dead after rear-ending a car on westbound Interstate 66 in Fairfax County Tuesday night.

Witnesses told Virginia State Police that two motorcycles had been traveling westbound at a high speed just before 10 p.m. One of those motorcycles rear-ended the car near exit 67.

The impact of that collision caused the motorcycle to run off the road and hit a guardrail, police said.

The motorcyclist was dead at the scene. The driver of the rear-ended car was not injured.
