WASHINGTON — Three suspects in a car led police on an eight-mile chase through D.C. early Sunday morning.

It all started around 4 a.m. in the 2200 block of Bladensburg Road Northeast when police officers saw gunfire coming from a car, D.C. police said in a news release.

Police began to follow them and at some point during the chase, the people inside the car began shooting at the police officers chasing them.

The chase ended in the 6700 block of 16th Street Northwest, just across from Rock Creek Park, when the suspects’ car crashed.

The three people inside the car were then arrested.

Police said no officers were hurt and no property was damaged during the incident.
