Woman killed in single-vehicle crash in Columbia

WASHINGTON — Howard County police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that happened around 2 a.m. on Sunday in Columbia, Maryland.

According to the Howard County Police Department’s Facebook page, a 2011 Honda Element was traveling eastbound on Route 175 near Tamar Drive when it veered off the road and hit a traffic light pole.

The driver, 24-year-old Elysse Camacho of College Park, Maryland, was alone in the car at the time of the crash.

She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Howard County police are still trying to determine what caused the crash.
