WASHINGTON — Officials in Howard County announced it will be reevaluating access to Main Street in Ellicott City throughout the afternoon on Sunday.
Access to Main St will be reevaluated throughout the afternoon and is dependent on the weather forecast. Instructions for those already inside the restricted area will come from @HCDFRS safety officers.

[related_gallery align=”right”]Earlier on Sunday officials announced they were scaling back access to Main Street due to rain being in the forecast. Access to Main Street had scheduled to end at noon, although officials said the end time could be shortened or extended if the forecast changes. People who want to access Main Street are also being asked to limit their number of volunteers to 10 people. In the event of any enhanced warnings from the National Weather Service, everyone on Main Street will be asked to leave immediately and must do so.

To gain access to the area, everyone must check-in and be credentialed. Credentialing and check-in start at 7 a.m. at the George Howard Building on Courthouse Drive. You can find more information about the check-in and credentialing process on the Howard County Government’s Facebook page. Officials in Howard County had originally planned to let residents return to the Main Street area between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday.
