3-year-old boy dies after falling out of window in Fairfax Co.

WASHINGTON — An investigation is underway after a 3-year-old boy fell from a window to his death in an apartment in Bailey’s Crossroads area of Fairfax County, Virginia.

The boy was with family members when he fell from bedroom window at 5601 Seminary Rd. around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, police said in a news release. The window was open but screened.

He was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.

Police said all evidence appears to suggest this was an accident.

Search continues for swimmer who went missing in Potomac River

The search resumed Wednesday for a man who went missing in the Potomac River, near Great Falls, one day ago. A man who was with two swimmers called 911 from the shoreline of the Potomac River, south of Sandy Landing, at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue told WTOP.
