Metro will stay open late for Caps’ Game 4 with Xfinity footing the bill

WASHINGTON — Hockey fans can still ride Metro after the Washington Capitals play the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 4 at the Capital One Arena on Monday, June 4. Metro is extending its late-night train service for an hour past the usual 11:30 p.m. closing time. Xfinity is providing the $100,000 needed to extend the service past its regular weekday hours. Find out when the last trains from the Gallery Place-Chinatown and Metro Center stations will run on Metro’s website. Metro has extended its service in the past during the earlier part of the Caps’ quest for the Stanley Cup after others agreed to sponsor. Exelon, Pepco’s parent company, partnered with the transit system to keep late-night train service running after Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final is also in D.C. on Saturday, June 2, but Metro is open until 1 a.m. on Saturdays. Red, Green, Silver, Blue and Yellow lines will operate on a regular weekend schedule. Orange Line trains will run every 20 minutes. The Caps are one game down after the Golden Knights won 6-4 in Game 1 on Monday. Game 2 is in Las Vegas on Wednesday night. See the full schedule here.
