WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump greeted German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the White House Friday for an Oval Office meeting, a working lunch and a joint news conference.
It was a far more low-key affair than the glitzy three-day state visit for French President Emmanuel Macron earlier this week. Still, the two leaders appeared to have a warmer rapport compared to the icy meeting last March in which the two leaders did not shake hands.
