WASHINGTON — It’s President Donald Trump’s first state visit: a glitzy three-day stay in D.C. for charismatic French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron.

Ahead of a state dinner Tuesday evening — a rack of lamb and nectarine tart are on the menu, released by first lady Melania Trump — there’s already been plenty of pomp and circumstance.
