Man dies after being assaulted in Northwest DC

WASHINGTON — A man who was assaulted in Northwest D.C. on Thursday night has died from his injuries.

Police are investigating his death as a homicide.

The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Yusef Turner of Northwest, D.C.

Police said they responded to a call of an assault in progress at the 3500 block of Georgia Avenue, NW a little after 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 5.

When police arrived, they found Turner, who had been assaulted, inside an establishment. Turner was taken to a hospital but died of his injuries on Friday, April 6.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police, a reward of up to $25,000 is offered to anyone that provides information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in D.C.
