WASHINGTON — The first Easter Egg Roll at the White House took place in the late 1800s. On Monday, the president’s home hosted the 140th edition of the event.
About 30,000 people were in attendance, even with chilly, cloudy weather in the District.
[custom_gallery]Along with the traditional egg rolling, the event included lawn bowling, egg decorating, the chance for children to meet the Easter bunny, and appearances by President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and other members of the administration.
There was also a station where children can make greeting cards for members of the U.S. military serving abroad.
