WASHINGTON — If you live near Marine Corps Base Quantico in Prince William County, Virginia, it might like there’s a battle raging nearby, but no need to panic: It’s only a drill.

The Marine Corps base will be holding live-fire and demolition training from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 31. The Prince William County Police Department tweeted out a reminder that residents might be “inconvenienced” by increased sounds, vibrations and even “illuminations” in the area as a result of the training.

On its website, Marine Corps Base Quantico said there might also be aircraft that supporting the training that can cause some additional noise. The impact of the noise, vibrations and illuminations in the area can vary depending on atmospheric conditions and changes to natural sound barriers.
