Police seek suspect in Largo homicide

WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County police are searching for the suspect who fatally shot a man in Largo Wednesday night.

Around 11 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a parking garage in the 600 block of Harry S. Truman Drive and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, 39-year-old Omar Wright, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said Thursday.

Police said Wright had been shot “multiple times.”

Detectives said they do not believe Wright’s shooting was a random crime.

Police are working the identify suspects and establish a motive.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — The parents of former Maryland football player Isaiah Hazel have launched a foundation in his memory after he was killed in a car crash two years ago. At a launch event on campus, the Isaiah Lee Hazel Foundation awarded its first Isaiah Lee Hazel Memorial Scholarship to walk-on defensive lineman Joshua Simmons to help cover meal expenses during the school year.
