Gallows Road reopens after crash in Fairfax County

WASHINGTON — Gallows Road has reopened between Idylwood Road and Cottage Street in Fairfax County.

All lanes were blocked after a car crashed into a pole early Wednesday morning bringing down live wires. A spokesman for Fairfax Fire and Rescue said the crash happened just before 1 a.m. Some wires did fall on a house, but a person inside the home managed to get out safely. No one was injured. Gallows Road was closed for several hours as crews worked to remove the wires.
