WASHINGTON — Two Falls Church men are being held without bond after police say their gunfire hit a retirement community a few times last month.

The pair — Nehemias Perez Escobar, 35, and Irvin Rodriguez Perez, 23 — are accused of shooting near Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads, a senior apartment complex located in the 3400 block of South Jefferson Street in Falls Church, Virginia.

The windows of three apartments were damaged in the shootings, Fairfax County police said, but no one was injured. The incidents were due to “reckless behavior,” they said, and the complex was not a target.

Escobar and Perez, who were arrested over the weekend, face charges both of willfully discharging firearms in public areas and of discharging firearms within or at a building or dwelling house.

Authorities had responded to “a number of calls” throughout February, after gunshots were heard and damage was discovered.
