Virginia, North Carolina governors wager beer on basketball game

WASHINGTON — Some North Carolina brew will be on the way to Virginia after the Cavaliers defeated the Tar Heels in the ACC Tournament Saturday night. Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam made a wager with North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper on the men’s basketball game between the University of Virginia and the University of North Carolina. No. 1 Virginia beat No. 12 North Carolina 71-63 in the Barclay Center in Brooklyn. Cooper graciously accepted defeat and tweeted that the brews were on their way.
