WASHINGTON — An intensifying nor’easter has brought coastal flooding to Annapolis, Maryland.

Compromise Street was closed between City Dock and Spa Creek Wednesday morning.

The parking lot at City Dock remained underwater for several hours, and water crept into a few nearby shops, including Pip’s Dock Street Dogs, around high tide.

Some shops along Dock Street were spared, while others had several inches of water inundation during high tide.

The National Weather Service said a coastal flood warning remains in effect until 6 p.m., and that water levels were 2 to 3 feet above normal, pushing water up through storm drains.

The water is expected to approach the Maritime Museum and begin to cover Bowyer Road, near the Naval Academy, the weather service said.
