WASHINGTON — The Washington National Cathedral has reached out to the public for help in naming their new resident: a red-tailed hawk. The historic site posted Monday on Facebook about the hawk who had taken over the roof of the cathedral’s central tower. They also asked for name suggestions.
The gender of the bird has not been identified, but the finalized list has a mix of 10 names, including “Deacon,” “Gloria,” and “Bishop.”Gloria? Bishop? Deacon? Millennium (Falcon)?

The cathedral posted the link to the poll on Twitter on Friday. As of Saturday morning, “Grace” was in the lead with 136 out of 554 votes, totaling at 25 percent. You can participate in the poll on their site here.
