1 dead, 1 injured after crash on BW Parkway in Prince George’s Co.

WASHINGTON — One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a one-vehicle crash along the Baltimore-Washington Parkway late Monday night. It happened around 11:15 p.m. Monday on the northbound side of the parkway near Route 198 in the area of Laurel, Maryland, a U.S. Park Police spokesman said. All lanes were blocked until 6 a.m. Tuesday, as police investigated and crews cleared the crash overnight. There is no word yet on what caused the crash.

Parents of former Maryland football player killed in 2024 car crash start foundation in his honor

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — The parents of former Maryland football player Isaiah Hazel have launched a foundation in his memory after he was killed in a car crash two years ago. At a launch event on campus, the Isaiah Lee Hazel Foundation awarded its first Isaiah Lee Hazel Memorial Scholarship to walk-on defensive lineman Joshua Simmons to help cover meal expenses during the school year.
