1 dies in Prince George’s Co. 3-vehicle crash

WASHINGTON — One person died and three others were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Prince George’s County Thursday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m., a car was heading eastbound on Pennsylvania Avenue when it crashed into two other vehicles near the intersection with Brooks Drive in Forestville, Maryland.

A man driving one of the vehicles that was hit died at the hospital, Prince George’s County police said. Three other people suffered injuries, and are expected to recover, police added.

Police have not yet released information about the identity of the man who died.

The crash caused some traffic delays as vehicles were diverted around the scene.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — The parents of former Maryland football player Isaiah Hazel have launched a foundation in his memory after he was killed in a car crash two years ago. At a launch event on campus, the Isaiah Lee Hazel Foundation awarded its first Isaiah Lee Hazel Memorial Scholarship to walk-on defensive lineman Joshua Simmons to help cover meal expenses during the school year.
