ARLINGTON, Va. — More people are traveling through Dulles International Airport.

Over the first 11 months of 2017, the number of passengers at the airport increased by 4 percent, compared with the same period the previous year. The increase at Reagan National Airport was 2 percent.

The growth at Dulles is expected to continue this year, fueled by an increase in domestic traffic, said Carl Schultz of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. United is among the airlines adding new service there in 2018.

Even though Dulles saw more growth over the 11-month period last year, Reagan National handled a higher number of passengers overall. Dulles recorded nearly 21 million passengers, while Reagan National had just over 22 million during the period.
