WASHINGTON — Three students at a Columbia, Maryland, high school have been charged in the stabbing of a former student this week.

Eighteen-year-old Dakiah Robinson, 18-year-old Malcom Moore and 17-year-old Zarek Lynch — all Wilde Lake High School students — have been charged in the stabbing of 18-year-old Shane McCray, of Columbia, on Monday, Howard County police said in a statement Wednesday. Lynch is being charged as an adult.

Police said that McCray, a former student at the school, was found suffering from two stab wounds in the Wilde Lake area at about 5 p.m. Monday. They said McCray was approaching the school on a footpath between the parking lot and the football field when the three attacked him.

McCray is in the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and is currently listed in good condition, police said.

Detectives said in the statement that they think all four teenagers knew each other and that the incident stemmed from a fight earlier this month at the school.

The three suspects are being charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. More people may be charged, police added.
