WASHINGTON — Anne Arundel County police are investigating a double homicide in Shady Side, Maryland, Thursday morning.

A man and a woman were pronounced dead on the scene after being shot in the area of Scott Town and Nick Roads, in Shady Side, at around 1 a.m.

Thursday evening, they identified the couple as Leslie Smith, 48, and Linda McKenzie, 44. Police said they lived together on a boat on Rockhold Creek, in Deale.

Police do not believe there is a threat to the public, according to a Facebook post.

Police spokesman Marc Limansky said anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call 911.
