Authorities report inmate death in Prince George’s Co.

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County authorities are investigating an apparent inmate suicide.

Officials say correctional officers found a 30-year-old man unresponsive in the medical unit bathroom of the Prince George’s correctional center about 12:45 p.m. Sunday.

Correctional staff and emergency responders performed CPR on the man, but he was pronounced dead at 1:14 p.m.

Prince George’s County police are conducting an investigation and the Department of Corrections has begun an internal investigation

Officials say the man was committed late Saturday on a no-bond status for first-degree assault.
