Police: Missing 15-month-old Montgomery Co. girl found safe

WASHINGTON — A 15-month-old girl from the Fairland, Maryland, area who was last seen on Saturday with her father has been found safe and unharmed, police said Tuesday night.

Montgomery County police said Janel Aaliyah Mercado was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Saturday with her father, 26-year-old Terrance Faison, at his residence in the 5300 block of B Street Southeast in D.C.

“Family and detectives have been unable to contact or locate Faison since that time,” Montgomery County police had said in a press release.

Police described Mercado as an African-American girl with black hair and brown eyes, weighing around 20 pounds. Faison is described as an African-American man with black hair and brown eyes. He is around 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs around 258 pounds.
