Woman struck by trash truck in Montgomery Co.

WASHINGTON — A pedestrian was struck by a trash truck Monday morning near the Shady Grove Metro station.

Montgomery County Fire spokesman Pete Piringer said the low-speed accident occurred around 6 a.m. at Redland Road and Somerville Drive.

The unidentified woman was taken to the hospital, where she is listed in serious condition. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
