Man shot, killed inside house in Gaithersburg

WASHINGTON — Two men entered a Gaithersburg house Monday night and one shot and killed a man who lived there, Montgomery County police said.

The police said they were called to a house in the 7900 block of Muncaster Mill Road, near Route 124, at about 10 p.m., where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man, identified as 23-year-old Ronald Michael Lone III, died before he could be transported, they said.

Detectives say two suspects dressed in dark clothing and with their faces concealed, entered the home through an unlocked rear door. During the home invasion, one of the suspects shot Lone, who lived in the house.

Both suspects then fled the scene, police said.

Police said Tuesday afternoon that they don’t believe the shooting was a random act.

There were multiple people in the home at the time of the home invasion, but police are still asking anyone with information about the crime or the suspects to contact then at 240-773-5070.
