Police: Husband, wife hospitalized in Germantown double-shooting

WASHINGTON — A man and a woman are fighting for their lives after a domestic incident resulted in a double-shooting at a residence in Germantown, Maryland on Sunday.

At around 8 a.m., police responded to a call from a woman reporting that she had been shot by her husband at the residence they shared in the 19500 block of Frederick Road, near Gunners Branch Road. She also claimed that her husband shot himself, police said.

Both were taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries. Police did not release the names of the couple.

This shooting happened hours after officers made a visit to the same home.

At around 6 a.m., the husband called police stating that he wanted his wife removed from the residence. But arriving officers determined that the couple had gotten into an argument, that there had not been a physical fight.

Police said they’re investigating the double-shooting as a domestic-related event.
