Man sentenced to 33 years for stabbing girlfriend’s ex in Baltimore

BALTIMORE (AP) — A 48-year-old man who stabbed his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend to death has been sentenced to 33 years in prison.

Michael Warren Hamilton was sentenced on Monday.

Baltimore’s top prosecutor announced the sentence in a news release.

Hamilton was convicted on July 7 of fatally stabbing Kevin Jowers in 2014. Hamilton stabbed Jowers several times and slashed his back and neck in the middle of a busy Baltimore intersection. Authorities say Hamilton attacked Jowers in a jealous rage because he’d been standing with Hamilton’s girlfriend, who Jowers used to date.
