For sale: Cal Ripken’s Baltimore Co. estate

WASHINGTON — Monument Sotheby’s International Realty has just listed Cal Ripken Jr.’s secluded, 25-acre estate in Tufton Farms for $12.5 million.

The Orioles Hall-of-Famer spent 30 years living in the home, which was custom-built in 1985 and completely renovated in the late-1990s.

Ripken played his entire career in Baltimore, setting the record for consecutive games played at 2,632.

The main house includes six bedrooms, 10 full baths, four fireplaces, a theater and an eight-car garage.

The gated estate also includes a guesthouse, a pool and cabana, plus a lake and a dock.

The baseball star’s home comes with a full-sized baseball diamond, an indoor basketball court, a locker room, batting cage and a trainer’s room with an ice soak tub.

Ripken and ex-wife Kelly Ripken finalized their divorce in April, after 30 years of marriage. Ripken currently lives in Annapolis, according to the Capital Gazette.

WTOP’s Dave Preston and Amanda Iacone contributed to this report.
