Va. officer bitten while trying to break up fight at McDonald’s

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A Richmond police officer has been bitten while trying to break up a fight inside a fast food restaurant.

News outlets report that police say the incident happened Sunday at a south Richmond McDonald’s.

Police say officers responded to the scene and worked to break up the altercation involving several people when a female officer was bitten on the arm.

Shortly after, more officials arrived and the fight was soon dispersed.

It’s unclear exactly how many people were fighting, but police did say charges are pending in the incident. It’s also unclear what led to the fight.

WWBT-TV reports that the officer who was bitten is expected to be fine.
