1 dead, 3 injured in Lynchburg shooting

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead, another in critical condition and two others injured.

The Lynchburg Police Department says the shooting occurred Sunday at about 2 a.m. on Rivermont Avenue in the city.

Witnesses told police that a suspect fired shots from a dark colored sedan and drove off. No arrests have been made.

All four victims are Lynchburg residents. Twenty-one-year-old Shawn L. Johnson Jr. was pronounced dead at Lynchburg General Hospital after a gunshot wound to the midsection.

A 30-year-old man was listed in critical condition after receiving multiple gunshots. Two others, a 28-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, were being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
