Motorcyclist dead after collision in Montgomery Co.

WASHINGTON — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a rental truck Saturday night in Montgomery County, police said.

Officers responded at around 10:37 p.m. to University Boulevard and Merrimac Drive to find the operator of a black Honda motorcycle dead due to injuries sustained in a collision with a GMC Savana truck, Montgomery County police said in a news release.

The motorcyclist was identified as 23-year-old Jose Armando Lemus of Hyattsville, Maryland, the news release said.

Justin Magnus, 28, of Tuckahoe, New York, was driving the rental truck, the release said. Magnus did not report any injuries.

The collision occurred as the truck, which was driving south on Merrimac Drive, crossed University Boulevard, according to investigators. The motorcycle had been going east on University Boulevard.
