Police: Va. doctor charged with sexual battery

WASHINGTON — A doctor working at a clinic in Alexandria, Virginia, was charged with sexual battery for inappropriately touching a patient, Fairfax County police say.

Dr. Fausto Fernandez, 75, turned himself in to police on Thursday after detectives obtained a warrant on Wednesday. He was working in HIBP Medical Services at 6911 Richmond Highway where the male victim, 30, went for a medical exam on June 23.

According to police investigation, Dr. Fernandez asked the victim to remove his clothing after asking him general medical questions. During the medical exam, the doctor touched the victim inappropriately. The victim then contacted police after leaving the clinic.

Police suspect that there could be other victims and urge anyone with information to call 703-691-2131 or text “TIP187” to 274637.
