28-year-old shot, killed in Alexandria

WASHINGTON — A man died after he was shot in Alexandria, Virginia, Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened in the 1000 block of Montgomery Street around 12:30 p.m. When police responded, they found a man suffering from trauma to his upper body.

Emergency crews transported the man — identified as 28-year-old Pierre Clark — to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police said there is no reason to believe the suspect is still in the area. A suspect description has not been released.

As a precaution, Alexandria City Schools went on “lock-in status,” but it was lifted about an hour later.

The homicide is Alexandria’s third for the year.

Police are investigating the shooting and are asking anyone with information to contact police at 703-380-5019.
