WSSC: Repair work will affect Monday morning commute near Langley Park

WASHINGTON — Repairs on a 12-inch water main in Langley Park, Maryland have spurred road closures that will linger beyond the Monday morning commute, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission officials said Sunday night.

The repairs, set to begin at 9 a.m., will impact traffic heading east and west on University Boulevard, between Piney Branch Road and New Hampshire Avenue.

Officials say two eastbound and two westbound lanes will be closed for repaving.

The restoration work started Sunday morning but left a large part of the road damaged.

As a result, the repair work is expected to last at least two days, WSSC officials said.
