Power outage reported in Silver Spring

WASHINGTON — Due to underground equipment failure,several hundred  Pepco customers in Silver Spring, Maryland were without electricity Sunday afternoon.

The outage was reported at around 1:30 p.m. near Colesville Road and Georgia Avenue.  At its height,  about 900 customers were in the dark.

As of 5 p.m., about 430 customers were still without power.

Pepco says crews were onsite. Full restoration is expected at around 5:30 p.m.
