I-95 closures planned ahead of demolition work

WASHINGTON– Portions of Interstate 95 northbound and southbound will experience lane closures this week as demolition crews begin work on an overpass in Fredricksburg, Virginia.

Crews are scheduled for work on the Fall Hill Avenue overpass from Sunday, Mar. 6 to Thursday, Mar. 10.

Sunday, Mar. 6: Two lanes of I-95 southbound will be closed from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Monday, Mar. 7: One lane of I-95 southbound will close at 9:30 p.m. A second lane will close at 10 p.m. Both will reopen at 5 a.m.

Tuesday, Mar. 8: One lane of I-95 southbound will close at 9:30 p.m. and a second lane will close at 10 p.m. Full traffic stops up to 30 minutes will occur between midnight and 3 a.m. Traffic will be released between each 30-minute stop.

Wednesday, Mar. 9 and Thursday, Mar. 10: One lane of I-95 northbound will be closed.
