Md. tractor-trailer driver dies in fiery crash not far from home

WASHINGTON — A tractor-trailer driver from Montgomery County, Maryland died in neighboring Frederick County after his rig struck a guardrail and burst into flames late Monday. Karl Eugene Neal, 59, of Dickerson, Maryland died at the scene on Md. 80/Fingerboard Road in Urbana, according to Maryland State Police. The crash involving a 2016 Peterbuilt tractor-trailer occurred at 10:45 p.m. on Fingerboard Road east of Park Mill Road. Fingerboard Road has been closed. New guardrails are being installed.

Possible human remains found in a shallow grave in Frederick Co.

WASHINGTON — The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says they have found what appears to be human remains buried in a shallow grave close to Gambrill State Park. The apparent grave was found by a hiker on Thursday evening off Gambrill Park Road just north of Coxey Brown Road in a wooded area. Officers secured the area overnight and processed the scene on Friday morning.
