VRE facing major morning delays

WASHINGTON – A switch problem led to major delays on several Virginia Railway Express trains headed toward D.C. on Friday morning.

As of shortly before 7 a.m., VRE said that Train 304 was running an hour late; Train 306, 45 minutes late. Meanwhile, Train 308 was 35 minutes late, while Train 310 was running 15 minutes late.

Around 7:30 a.m., VRE said that the trains were back on the move, and that Trains 312 and 314 were about 10 minutes late.

The Metro option has been opened, VRE says.
