Gas leak sickens churchgoers in Prince George’s Co.

WASHINGTON — Several people were sicked by a gas leak at a church in Prince George’s County, Maryland on Sunday morning.

The incident was reported at around 11 a.m. inside the the Refreshing Spring Church of God, at 6200 Riverdale Road, in East Riverdale, according to Prince George’s County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady.

Four people reported feeling sick and one person was taken to the hospital, Brady says.

High levels of carbon monoxide were detected at the church. The source of the leak was a natural gas heating system, Brady says.
