Woman injured in Montgomery Village fire

WASHINGTON — A woman was hurt after her home was up in flames in Montgomery County Thursday morning. According to Montgomery County Fire spokesman Pete Piringer, the fire occurred just after 6 a.m. in a two-story townhouse in the 9900 block of Brookridge Court in Montgomery Village. The woman’s injuries are not life threatening injuries. Neighbors were evacuated for safety because of all the smoke that was showing when fire crews arrived to the scene. There is no word on the cause of the blaze.
