WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a shooting near a Prince George’s County school Tuesday that left one man injured.

Police in Prince George’s County were called to the 5900 block of St. Moritz Drive — near Samuel Chase Elementary School in Temple Hills — around 3:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the lower body.

Emergency crews transported the man to a nearby hospital. He is expected to be OK, says Officer Michael Owen with the Prince George’s County Police Department.

School had been released for the day and no children were impacted by the shooting.

No one else was hurt, Owen adds.
