Ocean City festival may cause delays on Md. Bay Bridge

WASHINGTON — Sunfest is this weekend, and the Maryland Transportation Authority has issued a traffic advisory for the Bay Bridge before the festival starts.

From Thursday, Sept. 24, through Sunday, Sept. 27, drivers are encouraged to travel during off-peak hours.

The MDTA will keep an eye on traffic conditions. Weather permitting, a westbound lane may be converted into an eastbound lane to help break up heavy traffic. For updates on traffic, visit the MDTA website.

Sunfest brings together music, local food and local people for a four-day celebration on the beach. Live music, local restaurants and caterers and vendors from the area all set up shop by the shore for the weekend festival.

There are a few ticketed events, such as a performance by Wynonna, but most performances are free. For more information about the festival, visit the Sunfest website.
